MAN MC & ME Series
This test assesses knowledge of MAN MC, MAN ME-C and MAN ME-B main engines, including engine control systems (ECS), CCU, EICU, MOP, FIVA operation, fuel injection, exhaust valve control, engine process adjustment and key differences between electronically controlled and camshaft-controlled engines. The test is designed for engine cadets, junior engineers and watchkeeping engineers who want to evaluate their understanding of modern MAN propulsion systems and engine automation.
Medium Speed Engine – Management Level (Senior Engineer)
Advanced CES test for engineers in charge of propulsion plants with four-stroke medium-speed engines and auxiliary systems. Covers performance optimization, generator management, automation, vibration control, and emergency response.
Medium Speed Engine – Operational Level (Junior Engineer)
Comprehensive CES test focused on four-stroke medium-speed engines used on offshore, Ro-Pax, and cruise vessels. Covers engine starting, fuel system operation, cooling and lubrication systems, and basic electrical and automation interfaces.
Slow Speed Engine – Management Level (Senior Engineer)
Advanced CES test for senior engineers responsible for operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of two-stroke low-speed propulsion engines. Includes advanced fault diagnosis, automation, lubrication oil analysis, fuel system management, and emergency procedures.
Slow Speed Engine – Operational Level (Junior Engineer)
Test designed for junior engineers working with two-stroke slow-speed main engines (e.g., MAN B&W, Wärtsilä RT-flex). Covers starting and control systems, fuel injection, cylinder lubrication, scavenge air system, cooling, and safety procedures.
